Event Registration

Description:

The inaugural SYS Aquathon will be held at Harthill Reservoir on Saturday 20th June, 2015 with a 1pm race start.

Entrants will need to be at the venue to sign-in at 12.30pm.

We are thrilled to be working with Yorkshire Outdoor Swimmers (YOS) and Chesterfield Triathlon Club (CTC) to bring this fun and friendly event to Harthill reservoir.  The team from YOS will be providing their usual excellent water safety with CTC supplying their expertise in marshalling and timing the run.

The SWIM-RUN event will give entrants the choice of 2 courses - the short course, which includes a swim of 250m and run of 1km, and the long course which consists of a 750m swim and 3km run.

Entrants MUST make their choice of course on the registration form.

The SYS Aquathon is open to all athletes and budding athletes alike, as long as you are 13+ years old.

The entrance fee for the event is ONLY £7.50 plus your swim fees*

[*Swim fees are payable to Yorkshire Outdoor Swimmers on the day - if you are a YOS member with a valid membership card your swim fee is £3.  To become a member it is £10 - which includes your first swim]

PLEASE NOTE:

The SYS Aquathon contains activities that have dangerous aspects with a number of risks involved.  SYS will need to ensure that all entrants meet the right levels of open-water swimming competency, and that there is no medical reason as to why an entrant should not participate.

SYS reserve the right to bar any entrants from taking part, before and/or during the event should they feel that the entrant is unable to complete the aquathon without endangering themselves or others.  Should an entrant be barred from the aquathon there would be NO return of fees already paid.

In the event of the aquathon being cancelled due to poor weather conditions or other incidents that are beyond the control of the SYS team, SYS will endeavour to re-arrange the swim at another time in the year*.

Once entrance to the aquathon has been booked, no refunds will be available, but your place may be transferable to another entrant who meets all the SYS swim criteria.  If you have to relinquish your place please contact us immediately on info@swimyourswim.com

Your place on the aquathon will not be confirmed until full payment is received by SYS.  Should you be unable to make the full payment for the equation by the closing date for entries (9am on 20th June 2015) your place may be offered to someone else.

If the water temperature drops to 10ºC or under, wetsuits will be mandatory.  Should the water temperature rise above 22ºC wetsuits will NOT be allowed.

[*SYS will do their VERY best to re-run events that have to be called off for these reasons but there is no guarantee that this can be achieved within the same year.  We would hate for an event/swim to be completely cancelled, but think it best that you know there is a chance of this happening from the outset.  Refunds in this instance would be at the discretion of the SYS team.  For more information please email us on info@swimyourswim.com]
