Keeping You Safe – STA Open Water Safety Course

Open Water Rescue

This weekend saw the IISA GB board and SwimYourSwim volunteers completing the first Open Water Rescue course at Hatfield Outdoor Activity Centre.

The course was hosted by SYS and Ian Prosser from the STA and saw everyone carrying out open water rescues, risk assessments and learning CPR for drowning casualties, did you know that the CPR procedure for a drowning casualty is an initial 5 rescue breaths followed by 30 chest compressions and then 2 rescue breaths and 30 compressions? (continuing 2 & 30).

We will be hosting more courses soon, so if you’re interested in attending please drop us a line at info@swimyourswim.com, its an STA certificated course and could help you save someones life [ Ed – It’s also great fun]

Well done to everyone for participating and passing.
