Winter Swim Clubs – Sea Swims – Channel Qualifier

Saturday saw the begining of our winter swim clubs at Hatfield and Thrybergh with 15 amazing swimmers starting their winter swim journeys.

Everyone came out smiling (they may have just been frozen grimaces but we’ll go with smiles) and seemingly enjoyed their 14.6º degree venture into open water after attending the first of 6 introduction courses.

We’re looking forward to watching your winter swims, ice mile attempts and participation in the IISA GB Championships this winter, good luck to you all, we hope you enjoy the colder water as much as we do.

If you want to join us come along, everyone is welcome –

Donna exits the water after 2 hours in at 14.6º

SwimYourswim have three channel relay teams heading out into the English Channel next June to cross the 21 miles of sea between Great Britain and France.

With 9 of our swimmers having already completed their 2 hour qualifying swims it was all down to the amazing Donna Livingstone today, and complete it she did.

The water temperature was cooler than last week at 14.6º degree and Donna quietly and confidently cracked on without any fuss or fanfare, staying in the water for 2 hours wearing just a swimming costume, one swim cap and one pair of goggles.

Well done Donna we’re all really proud of you.

Big thank you as always to everyone that volunteered – you really are the best.

[ Ed – Donna exited the water after two hours the same colour as she went in, which can’t be said for her husband Stuart who after 20 minutes came out looking like Lady Penelopes Rolls Royce, thanks Stuart you made our morning]
