Lake Bala – End-2-End Swim 2015

SYS-bala2015Lake Bala, or Llyn Tegid meaning ‘lake of serenity’, is the largest body of water in Wales.  At its maximum points it is 5.95km (3.71 miles) long, 1km (0.6 miles) wide and 42m deep.

The End-2-End swim starts at stone jetty at Llangower public beach (next to railway station) and swimmers will swim across the lake, to a designated point, and then continue headland to headland along the north-west side of the lake, finishing at the Loch Cafe car park at the end of the lake.

The swim is approximately 5km, and there will be a time limit of 3.5hours.

Swimmers can attempt the swim in wetsuit or skins*.

The 2015 swim will be on Saturday 2nd May.
