I would like to thank and send our love and support to Alice, Becca, Al and Jeremy and to all of the Swim Wild team who have worked so hard to put on another amazing Scottish Winter Swimming Championships.
Sadly, after a successful day on Friday the remaining planned swims had to be cancelled for swimmer safety on Saturday afternoon after a sewage release into the Loch from Taymouth Marina, who were hosting the event.
Who looks at a stunningly beautiful Loch and thinks “I know , let’s put a sewage pipe in it”.
The decision to cancel the remaining event swims was absolutely the right thing to do.
Please, If you weren’t able to swim this year be kind and offer your support to Swim Wild ( I know lots of disappointed attendees have been absolutely amazing).
The whole SYS team are super proud of our association with Alice and the championship event, we will be back to offer our help on safety and registration in 2024.
My thanks as always to all of our team including the Yorkshire contingent who stayed behind to facilitate our home swimmers to swim whilst we were away, THANK YOU.
