Team Work….

We would like to share this lovely email from Julie Taylor who has been training with us at our combined SwimYourSwim and TryYourTri coached lane sessions at Queens Park Chesterfield on  Tuesday evenings….

"In a world where people are sometimes quick to complain or criticise, it is always nice to be
able to say something positive ... which is why I am writing to you now.

Your coaches have made/are making such a positive difference to my swimming and I am learning so much.

The impact over the last couple of weeks has been extraordinary and I'm delighted with my time
for the 400 metres last night of 6:32:01! (Very happy with that now I'm 53).

But it's not all about the time, it's very much about how my stroke is improving and feeling
better to me. I know I still have a lot to learn and practice but the journey at this moment is a happy one".

Julie has been training for our 26.2 marathon endurance swim which starts tomorrow evening at 7pm at DCLTS Hatfield Outdoor Activity Centre in Doncaster, Julie will be swimming one mile on the hour every hour for 26 hours in the name of those currently battling cancer, those who are survivors and those who have passed away but are being remembered by loved ones. In doing this incredible challenge Julie will be raising money for two important charities, Macmillan Cancer Support and Cancer Research UK.

We hope you’ll pop along to support Julie and all of the other swimmers attempting this massive feat of endurance swimming, we look forward to seeing you lakeside.
