Defibrillators really do save lives….

We would like to thank everyone for their messages and emails enquiring after the swimmer on Saturday. We are delighted to say that they are safe and recovering well in hospital after suffering a heart attack.

The teams quick response, CPR and use of the Thrybergh defibrillator were all factors in the positive outcome, not to mention the amazing 7 minute response time from the ambulance service.

It has been a rollercoaster of emotions for everyone involved but the main thing is that the swimmer is safe and the quick use of the defibrillator made all the difference in saving their life. So, if you’re at a venue or work with an organisation that doesn’t have one close at hand, please ask why not and maybe get together to fund raise to have one installed.

To all our team and everyone involved on Saturday, and to the two doctors who assisted, one who was swimming with us for the first time ( we promise a less eventful swim next time ) THANK YOU, you really are lifesavers in every sense of the word and you’ve made us extremely proud.
