Gladmiral – inspiring young people through swimming!

SYSgladmiral01We are excited to announce a brand new partnership that will see children and young people from disadvantaged and difficult backgrounds given the opportunity to learn to swim.

The partnership, between new charity ‘Gladmiral’ and Yorkshire-based open water swim coaching company  ‘Swimyourswim’, will bring the joy of swimming to children based in Yorkshire and the Lake District, Cumbria, the home of The Langdale Chase Hotel run by Gladmiral trustees Thomas ‘The Gladiator’ Noblett and Andrew ‘The Admiral’ Tighe.

“We are launching Gladmiral in order to give children and young people in our local communities the opportunity to learn and experience something that we both love.” explained Thomas, Managing Director of the Langdale Chase Hotel, “We are both keen open water swimmers and want to enable young people from around our home and beyond to learn how to swim and enjoy the beauty of the Lake District.”

Leon Fryer and Alistair Beattie, Lead Coaches at Swimyourswim, said, “Working with Gladmiral, and Thomas and Andrew, is a real honour.  We are as passionate about open water swimming as they are, so it’s a joy to be involved in helping young people learn how to swim.”

As a new charity Gladmiral aims to inspire young people from disadvantaged and difficult backgrounds through learning how to swim, giving them the skills they need to enjoy the freedom that swimming can bring.

The Langdale Chase Hotel is a non-tipping hotel, and gives any donations from patrons to the Gladmiral fund.  If you would like to donate to the Gladmiral fund, in order that more children and young people can be part of the Gladmiral Swim Scheme, please email us for more details.
